Hi.

I’m Tracy, infertility survivor, mom to 2 boys, midwife and fertility coach.

Welcome to my blog.

When the Swimmers Just Don't Wanna Swim

When the Swimmers Just Don't Wanna Swim

When the swimmers just don't wanna swim. (Infertility isn’t funny - but finding lightness in this journey can help us decompress for a moment and let’s a little joy in).

Knock, knock. Who's there? Not the sperm, apparently! If you're a guy dealing with infertility or the partner, I feel your pain (and your lack of gain). But sometimes even the best swimmers need a little push to dive into the pool.

Now, we all know that having a bun in the oven takes two to tango. But when the music starts playing and your partner's egg is on the dance floor, it can be tough to get your little Michael Phelps to show up for the race. It's not that he doesn't want to - maybe he's just not feeling the rhythm, or he's worried about his form. So, what can you do to boost his morale? Well, for starters, try to create a swimmer-friendly environment. Maybe add some motivational posters to the bedroom walls ;) or play some upbeat tunes to get him in the mood. And remember, it's all about teamwork - so don't be afraid to ask your partner for help with the warm-up exercises.

Now, we don't want to make light of the emotional toll that male infertility can take. It's a serious issue that can cause stress, anxiety, and even depression. But let's be honest sometimes finding a lighter side can be good for your mental health. For example, have you ever tried to explain to your buddies why you can't have kids? It's like trying to convince them that you're not a wimp for skipping leg day at the gym. And then there's the whole awkwardness of going to the fertility clinic - it's like a spa day, but instead of cucumbers on your eyes, you've got your junk in a cup.

All joking aside, male infertility is a real problem that affects millions of men around the world. It can be caused by a variety of factors, from genetic disorders to lifestyle choices. But the good news is that there are many treatments available that can help improve your chances of fathering a child and many of them are within your control. So, if you're struggling with infertility, don't be afraid to reach out for help. And remember - even if your little swimmers are more like lazy river tubes than Olympic gold medalists, there's still hope for you to become a dad. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming!

I hope I’ve managed to inject a little humor into this serious topic. Remember, when life gives you dodgy sperm make lemonade (or better yet, margaritas).
